Role:
As the engineering manager, Jacob leads a team of designers and engineers that ensure our projects are designed and built to a level of quality so they will operate and produce clean energy throughout their expected lifetime and beyond. He manages the technical evaluation of solar proposals from third parties, as well as conducts in-house design, production modeling, equipment selection and quality control as needed to support the proposal, construction and permitting processes.
Experience:
Jacob has more than 16 years in the solar industry. Starting out in the field working on installations and surveying he gained valuable first hand experience and brought that with him into his design and engineering roles. He has worked on and led engineering teams at Astrum Solar, Direct Energy Solar and Centrica Business Solutions in both residential and commercial and on projects ranging from a few kW to 4MW+.
Education:
Jacob has a BS from James Madison University in Integrated Science and Technology with concentrations in Energy and Instrumentation and Measurements.
Personal Interests:
Jacob enjoys traveling, hiking, backpacking and spending time outdoors.
